]]>Most of my music is a nostalgic look back at my life, past relationships and old desires left by the wayside. They are journal entries frozen in time. You are not the same person you were 5 years ago, 2 months ago and even yesterday. Some people hold other people accountable for their past. They want you to stay the same so they feel secure. We are all forever changing, wandering beings of light, we are all looking for our own path and piece of earth we feel most comfortable in. Nostalgia plays a big role in my writing and when i look within myself i realise everything i desire is already inside me. That to scale the earth looking for the rest of me, through environments or mind altering substances, the quest for fame, adulation etc. was not what i need to do and is a superficial path that doesn’t allow you to flow freely. Seeking favour is degrading and will lead you astray.
Creating Music that comes from what seems like out of nowhere makes me realise that peace, success, happiness, music, rhythm, abundance, anything and everything you need isn’t something you stumble on, it’s not something you find, it’s not material and you don’t learn it throughout your journey, it’s already within you. As our bodies get old, our soul do not, our soul constantly moves like the tide, our souls desires or purpose are considered our “dreams” and are always evolving with us, as we change throughout our lives, we never fade away we just transition into a new state of consciousness. We flicker in and out of existence at the speed of light, (300,000 kms per second). Learn how to die here on earth first, let go, be free, give away your possessions that clutter your space. Maybe even give a valued possession away if you’re ready for that. Our greatness is in the small things. Cherish you and you will cherish me. What if all our hearts beat in time, and everything that exists makes up the perfect rhythm that beats the perfect beat and allows life to keep flowing? All life is effortless and this is how we are meant to exist just like the force of energy that utilises the vein to help carry the blood to the perfect part of your body to keep you healthy and vibrant, and when we experience dis-ease from an imbalance of contrast, the power of healing is within you eternally, we are all apart of the same intelligence that exists within us and without us.
I wrote this above like automatic writing, i know this is my spirit talking to me but my human aspect now has to but in as it constantly does and the ego loves that. I want to tell you that I struggle with this notion everyday, ego vs true self, But to struggle with it goes against the whole principal. To have the awareness but still easily forget it is quite common and it’s one thing to be preaching it and meditating on it, it’s another putting it all into practise and that takes work and constant discipline. I try so hard to be a good human but it’s not about trying it’s about letting it flow naturally… and every now and then challenges arrive where i find myself getting caught up in the day to day struggles of the lower vibrational issues that can come my way without anticipating them, and this happens everyday to everyone. It’s unfortunate but i guess that is what balances us and makes our human element so interesting. We make meaning out of everything and It’s hard to remember that we are all eternal having an experience when you see something horrific in the newspaper or on television (this is why i don’t read the news or watch tele).
Music for me brings the best part of the past back to life, as if it were time travel and it is. Memories are photons of light in the brain. They are apart of your soul. By having a memory, you summon light. You can not physically hold it in your hand but you know it’s there and it’s real to you, by the images that flash in your mind. I use this memory to conjure the feeling and then the audience will hopefully have the same if not similar experience that i was having in translating the song whilst calling on the experience of the past and bringing the song out of the un-manifest in the first place, obviously the past does not exist but the feeling will always remain and be available to access and the more and more you conjure this emotion for others, the more and more it expands within the collective consciousness. That is why we as artists/musicians have to create high vibrational art to fill the world with inspiration, freedom, passion etc.. to combat the lower vibrational turbulence of the world.

]]>TM has given me a new me i guess. I was given a mantra by Carol Maher in Sydney and with the practice of TM twice a day (30 mins in the morning, 30 minutes in the evening) i have noticed not only my creativity has increased but my ability to cope with stresses that consume my mind. In the past i’ve experienced depression, anxiety and paranoia and i’ve also discovered just recently i have a condition called Pyrolles Disorder, my body doesn’t produce much zinc and vitamin b6 which starves my brain of all the right “happy” chemicals it needs. TM has played a major role in my life over the last three and a half years by helping me combat depression and anxiety and to clear my mind when it’s full of constant chatter and that “mind fog” we sometimes get when we are tired, sad, angry etc… I also have learnt the flying sutras or the ’sidis’. This is an ancient practice that in my opinion can be even more powerful than the mantra I have experienced instant manifestation, nirvana or bliss in the matter of minutes in some meditations and also a hightened sense of psychic awareness. TM continually surprises me and in my opinion it is the most powerful tool i acquired over the years to help me just focus and get clarity of mind. I highly recommend when you start the practice to get Maharishi’s book “Science and the art of living” it helped me understand what i was experienceing. David Lynch describes it as getting in an elevator and somebody cutting the elevators cord and you free fall down the shaft. It’s a little like that i guess.
in my opinion, I don’t really think meditation is JUST for relaxation. Deepak Chopra says that The ancient seers that pioneered the technique were not trying to relax, they were already relaxed. Meditation was performed to experience a heightened awareness. During TM you experience a restful alertness, we meditate not to tune out but to tune in, not to get away from everything but to experience everything. It’s an inner wakefulness an inner knowingness. It leaves you feeling fresh, alert and when i started i became very sensitive to all that was around me. It makes you look at life much deeper. There is no interference by the experiences of the past when experiencing pure consciousness. There are vast voids within our bodies, filled with intelligence. The challenge is to bring this intelligence to our everyday awareness. We, as mind body and spirit are more like water, unlimited, ever moving and changing. Thoughts become things, we in the physical are like a wave in an ever bounding vast ocean connected to all, we are all one of the same thing. Our thoughts effect the world just as much as our physical actions if not greater.
I believe Meditation should be introduced in schools everywhere. We should also educate our kids on real life events and give them the appropriate tools to deal with the pressures and nuances of everyday life.
Love and Respect,
Wes

]]>I was blessed with the great honour to have toured every city in Australia with my great friend Jess Ainscough as apart of her brilliant book launch for “Make Peace with your Plate.” She’s such an inspiring soul and an incredible human, beating cancer everyday by just changing her lifestyle. There’s more to it than just that, but if i were to explain it, i wouldn’t do it justice, you HAVE TO READ HER BOOK!! It’s just such an incredible story and one that should be screamed from mountain tops everywhere. I highly recommend it to anybody, especially those who are craving a new lifestyle and wants to shake the old ways.
It really struck me with how many people are looking for something new, something to inspire them and the energy at every show was electric. I had the best seat in the house and it had a major effect on me and definitely changed my life.
Here is her blog and you’ll find everything you need to know about her here: http://www.thewellnesswarrior.com.au

]]>Hi everyone
Great and exciting news!
In October through til December 2013 I’ll be touring Australia again with my wonderful friend Sam Buckingham.
We’ll be visiting most big towns and a couple of little ones, playing in some gorgeous venues and playing a small number of extra special House Concerts across the country together.
We’ll be announcing more details of the tour soon but, for now, we’re asking you- DO YOU WANT US TO PLAY AT YOUR HOUSE?
If the answer to that question is HELL YEAH, and you live in PERTH, BRISBANE, ANYWHERE BETWEEN BRISBANE & SYDNEY, SYDNEY, CANBERRA, MELBOURNE or ADELAIDE we want to hear from YOU!
by Friday 13th September, it will travel through the atmosphere to our wonderful booking assistant Xanthea, she will conflab with you about details and stuff and pretty soon we could soon be coming to play for you, your family and friends IN YOUR HOME!
See below for more info on House Concerts and how they work, and email Xanthea if you have any questions at all.
We can’t wait! See you at your place!
XO Wes & Sam
MORE ON HOUSE CONCERTS
What is a House Concert?
A house concert is an intimate, personal, unique gig.. In your home! You invite your friends, family, neighbors, your neighbors dog – all the people in your life that you want to hang out with and share a one off musical experience with.
Does it cost me anything?
Nope. If you want to want to put on food or drinks or buy some decorations then that might cost you a little bit – but you don’t pay us to come and play. Instead, on the night (or day), each guest pays a $15 ticket price, which goes directly to the artists to pay for the show
How long do you play for and what else do I need to know?
Mostly, we’ll be able to make your House Concert start and finish whatever time suits you best.
We’ll play our songs separately and together and the rest is up to you!
Most House Concerts are played unplugged – with no sound equipment needed – so yours will probably be the same. Xanthea will help you figure out what’s needed for your House Concert, and she’ll help you decide on times and other details too
I have other questions…
Don’t we all.
For House Concert related questions please email Xanthea
TIPS
Here’s a few things we recommend…
DECORATIONS are great, to create a personal, fun and special vibe.
Candles, lamps, throws… get those creative juices flowing
SEATING is a good thing too. Couches, cushions on the floor, chairs… Make
sure your guests are comfy for the show
INVITING people (is a good thing, obviously). It usually helps to remind
people about the event, or send them the info a couple of different ways.
You can use Facebook, email, text messages, carrier pigeon.. hey, you can
even call them on the phone or tell them in person. There’s usually people
that can’t come at the last minute and people that turn up unexpectedly.
Allow for this and don’t be shy in reminding people and extending the
invitation to friends of friends
FOOD & DRINKS are good to have. Make sure you let your guests know if they
should be bringing them, or if you’ll be providing
TIME Once all the details are sorted and you’re House Concert’s locked in,
make sure to let your guests know what time the shindig starts and what
time the show will be. People love being fashionably late but we don’t
want them missing the show!
